Summer is in full swing. Kids are running around with sticky popsicle stained fingers. People zum by on Easter egg colored beach crusiers. And we are at the Great 88, keep you updated on what’s new and spinning in the world of jazz. One artist, I think we should all keep our eyes out for is Berklee alum Melissa Aldana. This Chilean native debuts her killer sax skills on her album Melissa Aldana and the Crash Trio (Concord), which features Francisco Mela on drums and Pablo Menares on bass. The album is melodically rich and dense, but also touches on her Latin roots in just the right ways.
