Bombino, climbing up the charts to #2, just released an incredible new album called “Azel” on April 1st. The lead singer, Omara Bombino Moctar, sings with passion about love in one of my favorite tracks, titled “Inar”, which means something along the lines of “If you know my love for you”. His guitar melodies are hypnotic, while the back-up percussions and synthesized beats add upbeat rhythms to the poetic track, and gives a more positive spin on the somewhat melancholy song about “a stolen heart and a painful love”.
To add the excitement, Bombino will be playing at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center on April 24th. Check out his track here, “Inar”.
