Even though it’s July, that doesn’t mean Pride for the LGBTQ+ community and the beauty of diversity in sexuality and gender has to end. In June, we remembered those who paved the way towards acceptance and representation, making sure their voices were heard in a traditionally binary and heteronormative society, and we honor activists who fought to break down barriers like Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, Harvey Milk, Laverne Cox, RuPaul, and countless others. Though we celebrate the progress that has been made, especially in our progressive haven of California, let us not forget that our country has A LOT more room for improvement and that other nations remain unwilling to accept their LGBTQ+ citizens. As we continue to fight for equality and celebrate an incredibly strong and beautiful community, let us do so with some tunes: enjoy this playlist full of music from today’s queer artists!
