Venue: Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco | Show: 7:00 PM

Excision deleveried an exciting Friday night’s performance in San Francisco. As someone who has never seen him live and isn’t the biggest fan, I still found myself thoroughly enjoying the concert, especially the visuals. After hearing about his visuals, specifically his Shrek visuals go viral in previous years, I was intrigued and encouraged to check out the show for myself.

By the time Excision took the stage, the energy inside Bill Graham was at its peak. As the first drop hit, the entire venue broke out in an almost synchronized frenzy of headbanging, mosh pits, and bass-fueled chaos. As he is know for his mind-blowing visuals and earth-shattering sound system, Excision delivered an audiovisual experience I have never seen before.

His setlist was a perfect mix of fan favorites, unreleased IDs, and remixes, keeping the crowd on their toes from start to finish. But what stood out the most to me were the visuals—they were nothing short of cinematic. Dinosaurs, cybernetic landscapes, and post-apocalyptic realms flashed across the LED screens, fully immersing the audience in Excision’s bass universe. My utimate favorite were the lazers, it was as if the concert was also a lazer shoe. Having previously seen clips of his Shrek visuals online, I was excited to experience the entire spectacle in person, and it did not disappoint.

The sheer force of the sound system could be felt in my bones, making the experience as much physical as it was auditory. The crowd’s energy never wavered, feeding off every drop and laser blast, creating an atmosphere of complete bass-driven euphoria. Even as someone who wasn’t deeply familiar with his discography, I found myself completely entranced by the entire performance.

Despite the intensity, the crowd was incredibly kind and welcoming. Multiple people sparked conversations with me throughout the night, making sure everyone was having a great time which I deeply appriciated. It was one of the nicest and friendliest crowds I have been apart of, which I heard is typical for edm concert/raves.

From the insane production to the sheer energy of the crowd, Excision excecuted a unforgetabble performance. The sound was chest-rattling, the visuals were next-level, and the entire experience was unforgettable. Even as someone who isn’t a hardcore dubstep fan, I walked away from the show completely impressed. While my ears did ring leaving the venue (as I forgot to bring my concert earbuds), I felt as if my eyes had seen new colors. If you have the chance to catch this tour, don’t hesitate—your ears might not thank you the next day, but your soul definitely will.
