KZSC X Greer Interview: Live from the Catalyst
Interview by DJ Buddha Hannah, DJ Shove It, and DJ Ligma
November 5, 2021
KZSC’s own DJ Buddha Hannah, DJ Shove It, and DJ Ligma had the distinct and rockin’ pleasure to sit down with Alternative Indie band, Greer, ahead of their newly released EP, Happy People. The DJs showed the boys banana slugs outside of the freshly rained-on radio station and asked about what working during the pandemic was like, as well as about the experience of being back on a tour of the West Coast for a brief, beautiful moment.
The new EP, Happy People, released November 5th, 2021, is the culmination of over a year and a half of ruminating on where the band has been and gone. Growing into a more mature and individualized sound, the quartet jam out to songs that express the painful and necessary strain of leaving- leaving family, leaving lovers, and leaving who they used to be for the better. Truly a productive of the pandemic, the four-track EP is about love and departure.
Greer played songs new and old at Santa Cruz’s The Catalyst on November 2 to a crowd of fans who swayed, sang, and swooned beneath blue and red lights. Our DJs’ favorite songs of the night were the EP’s title track, Happy People, and an incredible and fun cover of Mitski’s Francis Forever.
Happy People is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Bandcamp, YouTube Music, Deezer, and iTunes. For more information, check out greertheband.com
