On April 9th of this year, the UFC will host its most anticipated Pay-Per-View of the year, UFC 273. The action will take place in Jacksonville, Florida at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Headlining the card is the Featherweight Championship of the World, current champ Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski defends his belt against surging challenger Chan Sung Jung “The Korean Zombie”. After Volkanovski’s fight of the year contender at UFC 266 against Brian Ortega, in which Volk defended his best successfully, “The Great” seeks to solidify his featherweight legacy with another memorable performance this upcoming Saturday.

On the other side, The Korean Zombie is coming off a dominant five round performance against featherweight contender Dan Ige in June of last year. The Zombie hopes to use this momentum to pull off the upset against Volkanovski who is undefeated in the UFC at 10-0. The Zombie is more than capable of pulling off the upset, having earned seven performance of the night awards in his first seven fights in the UFC. This record is tied for first all time with Ronda Rousey. Look for Volkanovski and the Zombie to go to war and battle for Featherweight supremacy in Jacksonville, Florida this coming Saturday at UFC 273.

In the co-main event of the evening, the action heats up with the bantamweight title unification bout between Interim champ Petr “No Mercy” Yan and champ Aljamain “Funk Master” Sterling. After Yan was disqualified for an illegal knee in their first fight in March of last year at UFC 259, the two foes will finally throw down and settle the controversy. After Yan’s mishap against Sterling at UFC 259, “No Mercy” took on star bantamweight contender Cory Sandhagen at UFC 267 for the interim belt. Yan beat him convincingly over five rounds to set up the rematch and title unification bout against Aljamain Sterling.

On dthe other hand, Sterling has undergone surgery since his first fight with Yan and is now fully recovered for their consequential rematch. After training relentlessly and prepping for the dangerous skills of Petr Yan, the “Funk Master” is ready to rock and roll this coming Saturday. Look for Sterling to implement a mixture of his strong grappling and creative striking and for Yan to display his crisp and devastating stand up as each fighter vies for the bantamweight throne.

One of the biggest fights of 2022 is the main card welterweight showdown between number two welterweight contender in the world, Gilbert “Durinho” Burns, and welterweight super prospect Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev. This bout will serve as a title eliminator for the welterweight division. The winner of the fight will most likely move on to fight current welterweight champion Kamaru Usman for the undisputed welterweight title. Gilbert Burns who was once 10-0 (Khamzat is currently 10-0) is the only welterweight brave enough to accept a fight with Chimaev and he looks to prove that the undefeated phenom is human after all. Khamzat Chimaev comes into the fight with perhaps the most hype and fan-fare since the rise of Conor McGregor. After demolishing his first four opponents in the UFC, Khamzat will face his biggest test yet in Gilbert Burns. Poised to prove that the hype is justified, Khamzat seeks to remain undefeated and smash his way to the welterweight title. Burns looks to steal Chimaev’s hype as a six to one underdog and set up a rematch with the champ Kamaru Usman. UFC 273 in Jacksonvile, Florida will be must see tv from the moment it begins till the moment it ends. Tune in to ESPN+ for the Main Card PPV which begins at 7 PM PT.
